About Dr Stephen B Etheredge

Dr Etheredge graduated as Dux from Woonona High School in 1970. He studied Medicine at the University of NSW and graduated with First Class Honours in 1977.

After graduating Dr Etheredge worked as a Resident and Senior Resident Medical Officer at Royal North Shore Hospital and then as Renal Registrar at Sydney Hospital.

In 1981 he received a National Kidney Foundation scholarship. This took him to University of California Renal Centre, San Francisco General Hospital where he was employed as Clinical Renal Fellow, working, lecturing and researching in the field of Renal Pathophysiology.

Upon his return to Australia in 1984 Dr Etheredge worked in private practice as a Consultant Physician in Sydney and then in 1985 moved back to Wollongong and opened his own private practice as Consulting Physician, specialising in the Nephrology and Vascular fields. Over the years Dr Etheredge has expanded his practice and now employs an Assistant Doctor, two Sonographers, three Registered Nurses, three Receptionists/Typists and a Bookkeeper. The practice carries a high profile among referring GP's and specialists. He is also very active in the regional medical community

Dr Etheredge enjoys VMO rights to Wollongong, Illawarra Private and Lawrence Hargrave hospitals.

Dr Etheredge is married with two sons and has a passion for windsurfing.
